  • Regular news and press releases are added to the Official Cannes Festival Web site. Click here for the latest.

  • Parking in Cannes is often very difficult – rather use the bus or train: Train timetable SNCF

Open to the Public

The Official Film Festival and the Film Market are closed to the general public.

Residents of Cannes do have a chance to to get in with some tickets given away on a tirage au sort - a lucky draw system. Applicants must go to the Mairie and submit proof of residence in Cannes and then "wait and see". Make your application at the Point Festival on the ground floor of the Town Hall (Hôtel de Ville, Rue Félix Faure, Cannes) from the 2nd to the 6th May or from 9:00 to 19:00 on the 9th of May.

Members of film (cinéphile) clubs, film schools or other cultural groups from the PACA region may also apply for "Cannes Cinéphiles" passes. Applications (with justification) must be made before early May to:

  • Cannes Cinéphiles
L'OMACC,  La Malmaison, 47 la Croisette, 06400 Cannes
    Tel: 04 97 06 44 90

Cinéma de la Plage 2005

The open air cinema on the beach is opposite the Majestic, the Macé Beach. Access to screenings at the Cinéma de la Plage is open to badge holders and residents of Cannes ONLY. If you are a resident of Cannes you can apply for an invitation (for one night only) at the Mairie up to and including 5th May. You must present proof of your address in Cannes (justificatif du domicile), for example a recent EDF bill. Each night during the Festival there are screenings of competition films.

The Cannes Mix: Before each evening's Cinéma de la Plage screening, international musicians such as Troublemakers, Wakal, Fred Elalouf and Radiomentale will perform live. The beach opens at 22:00 and the films start at 22:30. All films that not in English will be subtitled in English.

The Movie-Mix Night: Saturday May 14th "musical technology artists" Jeff Mills and Lim Giong the Cinéma will host an evening of music and images.
