Cannes Film Festival 2003

Click here for the Cannes Film Festival 2007

The 56th Cannes Film Festival 2003 starts 14 May 2003 and runs through 25 May 2003

  • See the Official Festival Web site for all the films in and out of competition, updates and news on special events, concerts and more.

And the winners are:

Open to the Public

Films in and out of competition will be screened, for free, to the public during the Cannes Film Festival, in the days following the screening for the jury and press. Generally, foreign-language films will be subtitled in English.

You can get a day pass at the Cinéphiles tent in front of the Palais, or a pass per movie at the cinema before the show. Programmes will be available at the tent and in various hotels and gathering places. The queues are VERY long and VERY slow on the first few days, so either get there early, or be prepared to "people watch" while you wait for hours in line. The Cannes Tourist Office will be able to provide information. Take some form of identity and proof of being a resident of the area.

Public showings will be held at:

  • Salle Raimu, MJC Ranguin, Centre de Ranguin, La Bocca.
    Tel: 04 93 47 21 16

  • Studio 13, MJC Picaud 23, avenue du Docteur-Picaud.
    Tel: 04 93 06 29 90

  • Théâtre La Licorne, Espace Mérimée, avenue Francvis-Tonner, La Bocca.
    Tel: 04 93 48 97 34

Cinéma de la Plage: Access is free to the open air beach cinema on the beach opposite the Majestic but unlike last year, you need to have a pass. You can:

  • Show your Cinéphiles badge

  • A festival badge (if you have accreditation to a area of the festival)

  • Or get a free pass ticket to a screening from the Tourist Office at the Palais from 14:00 on the day of the show

Cinéma de la Plage programme:

The beach opens at 22:00 and the films start at 22:30. All films that are not VO English will be subtitled in English.
