It's an odd truth that while you may never properly
explore the tourist and historical attractions of the area where you
grew up, when
you become resident in a new location you can quickly become far more
knowledgeable about a place's sights and highlights than the locals -
not
least because you often end up showing visiting friends and family around
your adopted home!

Are you curious to find out more about your region? AngloINFO has lots of information to help you make your own discoveries. Why not browse through the Entertainment & Arts category of The AngloFILE, AngloINFO's business and service directory, where you'll find local museums and monuments, and art galleries to visit. The INFOrmation Page on Riviera Museums explains about discount passes, and days when museum and gallery entry is free.
Now, during the off season, it's a good time to explore the region in peace and make the most of it. The Travel & Tourism category has a section dedicated to places you can go (see Days Out: Trips & Tours), while the INFOrmation Pages covering Local Tourism Notes: Côte d'Azur and Local Tourism Notes: Monaco point you to highlights of the region.
It may still be a little early in the year for great floral displays, but you can find out about some of the Riviera's fine gardens by reading the INFOrmation Page on Great Gardens and the Gardens to Visit category of The AngloFILE.
