As the European Union continues its expansion - Bulgaria and Romania joined at the start of this month increasing the number of member states to 27 - it's worth knowing about the many resources made available to its citizens and residents by various branches of the EU organisation.
Where to go, who to call
Via its INFOrmation Pages, AngloINFO provides an easy way to access much of this information:
On the EU Factsheets introductory page you'll find links to the Europa Portal which has information for businesses and private citizens on their rights and opportunities, Europa Travelling, which has practical information for anyone holidaying in a member state, EuropaGo and Europa Youth both focus on kids in the community and Europe Direct (and it's information call line 00800 678 91011) provides a question answer service on just about anything related to living, working and travelling in the EU.

And remember, if you are not an EU citizen but your spouse or parent is, you share many of the rights of residence, travel, study and to work, with a fully fledged EU citizen. If you are in this position, you'll find much in the pages of relevance to you.
