Monday 31st July 2006A Dog's Life…Compared with many, France is an extremely pet-friendly country. But while it's a great place to keep an animal, you may still need access to English-language information and organisations to ensure you and your pet make the most of it. Pet's paradiseAngloINFO has plenty of resources available to help you out if you have a pet: whether you looking for a pet pension while you travel, or whether you're planning to travel with it. There's also information if you're looking to give a home to an animal. Firstly, there's the Pets & Animals category of The AngloFILE, your online local English-language directory. There you'll be able to find businesses and other organisations able to provide animal services in English. Then look at the INFOrmation Page giving Essential Animal Contacts, which has everything you need to know about owning a pet in France. It tells you how to buy one, what to do if you lose (or find) one, together with information on dangerous breeds and the responsibilities of their owners. There are links to the many animal-related organisations, refuges and shelters. Next up is the INFOrmation Page on Pet Travel & Moving with Animals, a big issue for many animal owners moving to and around Europe. On the Pet Threats INFOrmation Page you can find out about insects that could endanger your pet's life. And finally, there is the Animal Magic forum, a dedicated location for discussing local issues affecting animals of all types - from your household bet to the regional wildlife. Remember also that the holidays can be a notoriously hard time for animals: pets are left at home or abandoned on the streets while the family is away; the pet refuges and shelters welcome anyone looking to provide a dependable new home to a pet. Also, the soaring temperatures mean that it can be dangerous to leave an animal in a car, even for a few minutes. Featured Advertiser From The AngloFILE-
