Often I ask why doesn't Valbonne have a top restaurant. Biot has Pierre au fort which is quite nice. But since Valbonne Bistro left we've had almost nothing. Then a friend reminded us of Lou Cigalon in Valbonne at the top of the village.
Are you kidding me? This place is fantastic!!!! Top notch indeed. OK, the dining room is small, the wait staff is humble, but the food is out of this world. Far, far better than anything from Cannes to Monaco that I know. They are excellent if you love a really well done meal. Tonight we had Truffle de Valbonne au pigeon. Insane in the membrane.
If you haven't tried it yet, you are making a huge mistake. Book a table now there are only 7 tables each night. You will come back here to confirm it is the best ever. Palace in Mougins may have better service staff and pretty darn good food, but the food is better at Lou Cigalon. Yum.
