I live on the edge of Valbonne, above Plascassier. Every evening we have a wonderful bird of prey soaring in the skies above us.
Any clever person out there who has seen it and can tell me what it is? My guess is either a Kite or a Buzzard, but would love to know!

Could also be a Sea Eagle, as we have seen them above Tourrettes sur Loup many times. Usually hunting in pairs, but magnificiant birds with a large wingspan and slow circulating flight. Great fun to see them in action. Cheers.

I will research that one as well - thank you! This one appears to be black, and is on his/her own. Wonderful to watch it soar slowly around slowly in circles, presumably looking for supper...

HI the bird that you saw is a buzzard. SEA EAGLES are in northern europe scotland , nothern asia, green land etc Red Kits have a distinctive long forked tail and redish colour slightly, smaller than the buzzard. .
