Planning a trip to St Petersburg-RU in late February and was wondering if some of you had any tips about: things not to be missed (apart of course from the main tourist attractions, palaces, buildings, theatres, Ermitage, etc) or about food, things to be careful about, or things to bring there etc.....

-is it possible to walk in the streets and visit in late Feb, despite the cold and maybe the snow ?

- can we get a visa with a passport valid until July 2012 only?

Any tips and/or advice welcome. Thanks !
