Does anyone have any ideas how I would go about obtaining "une attestation mentionnant que tu te trouve en position reguliere au regard des obligations de service national".... provided by the British authorities???

As far as I'm aware, obligatory national service stopped in 1960. Being born in 1983, I though this might not apply to me... but apparently it does...

Any ideas are appreciated.

Sometimes the French believe that because something is current in France that its the same everywhere. (ex. livret de famille)

Here its still obligatory from 16yrs old, for French Nationals to be "recensé".

what's it for ? driving license ?

sometimes you can just tell them clearly that its not applicable in your case, as NS doesn't exist in the the UK

I don't really know if there is a way to prove That NS doesn't exist in the UK ? other than asking at the consulate?
